It wouldn't matter that I got it for free because of my interface purchase. They kindly replied me that I'd qualify for an upgrade as long as I own a Melodyne version registered to my name. Many companies exclude free software from upgrades. So I asked Celemony if I'd qualify for an upgrade. I was thinking about buying Melodyne assistant but 250€ for a plugin I didn't really need was too expensive for me. I kind of grew to like it but the limitations of the essential version were really annoying. Last year I bought a Universal Audio Volt 476 interface and it came with Celemony Melodyne essential for free. I was never too fond of pitch correction tools. They don't have any problems with Auto-Tune at all. I think it's a Mac only problem, because I know a few people who use Reaper on Windows.
